The relationship between the wind speed and the instantaneous electric power supplied

The power curve of a wind turbine describes, in terms of power, the behavior of the wind turbine to vary the current wind speed at hub height.

The power curve is a fundamental document because it describes the "real" behavior of the wind turbine. The values specified are not estimated, but come from a campaign of field trials, alternatively by a series of tests in the wind tunnel. Values are net of all aerodynamic and mechanica losses.

It represented in the graph there are the power curves determined with optimal conditions of wind.
